Juvederm® is an FDA-approved gel made of a naturally occurring substance in the skin called hyaluronic acid (HA). What Is Juvederm® Treatment Like?
At Levy Dermatology, all our specialists have extensive experience and training, complemented by Dr. Levy, an Allergan certified physician trainer who teaches enhanced injection techniques to physicians all over the United States. When it comes to the artistry and science necessary for world-class Juvederm® treatments, Levy Dermatology is one of the top providers in the nation. We administer Juvederm® in our offices, and injections take about 15 minutes. Juvederm® products contain lidocaine, so each injection is less painful than the one before, and we also offer topical or injectable anesthetic for your greatest comfort.
A Board-Certified, Allergan-trained Dermatologist will administer your injections into the targeted area to add volume or fill in wrinkles and folds. Post-injection, a gentle massage may be applied to the treated areas. You can return to regular activities right away. For the first 24 hours, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages to minimize complication risks. You may experience mild redness, swelling, or itching, which resolve in a few hours.
When Can I Expect Results?
Juvederm®’s beauty produces immediate results, which will continue to improve over the next few days as any swelling and bruising subside. The desired effect can last six to nine months — in many cases up to a year. Often, a single treatment is all that’s necessary to achieve your desired results for up to 2 years, depending on the Juvederm® formula that’s best for you. Many patients have maintenance appointments each year to continue looking their best for the long term.
