Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments are growing in popularity and being used to treat varying conditions. The applications are virtually endless with this highly customizable treatment. PRP is separated from your own blood and contains high concentrations of beneficial platelets, stem cells, and other growth factors.

PRP Treatments at Levy Dermatology

Depending on your individual needs and goals, you may be better suited for one or more of the following PRP treatment options. Your Levy Dermatology Provider will assess your concerns and speak with you about your options more in-depth at the time of your initial consultation.

PRP Injections

Once PRP is harvested, isolated, and prepared, there are two ways it can be used. The first consists of minimally invasive injections directly to the problem area. Platelets instantly plump and hydrate the skin from within and stimulate long-term collagen and elastin production.

At Levy, we use PRP injections for:

  • PRP Skin Rejuvenation: PRP can be used as a soft tissue filler for the face, neck, hands, and chest. Instantly restore lost volume and visibly reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
  • Hair Restoration: PRP Therapy can help reverse signs of androgenic alopecia (pattern baldness) by increasing blood flow directly to the hair’s follicles thus supporting new cell growth.

PRP injections are safe and effective for anyone. Side effects are minor and downtime is minimal. In most cases, you’ll be able to get back to your day-to-day routine right away with very few restrictions.

PRP Combination Treatments

Combining PRP therapy with other procedures allows us to maximize the effects of your treatment while also minimizing your recovery.

At Levy Dermatology, we can use PRP Therapy with:

  • Microneedling: Enhance microneedling treatments like SkinPen® or Vivace by jump-starting deep tissue repair. Microneedling and PRP work in conjunction to trigger the self-healing process. Concentrated levels of collagen and elastin help rebuild healthy skin.
  • Laser Treatments: We often pair PRP with laser resurfacing to maximize patient results. Ablative lasers resurface the skin allowing the PRP serum to penetrate more deeply. You’ll see longer-lasting results than with laser treatments alone.

Adding PRP to your resurfacing treatment doesn’t require any additional downtime. In fact, PRP is known for its ability to facilitate a quick recovery thanks to increased cell regeneration. Almost anyone can benefit when combining PRP with microneedling or laser treatments.
