Microneedling involves using micro-tip needles to puncture dermal tissue, thus encouraging the body’s wound-healing processes. Many clients have compared it to feeling sandpaper rubbed across the skin but take note: your skin may still feel sensitive after the treatment. That’s why we recommend avoiding touching your skin with activities like putting on makeup, vigorously washing your face, and more.
Microneedling can create redness, so expect your face to appear flushed and bright red for a day or two after treatment.
Whether you opt for a traditional microneedling treatment or a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling procedure for skin tightening, the treatment will make your skin a lot more sensitive to the sun’s UV rays. Wear sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 to be on the safe side.
Expect to see your microneedling results appear about three months after your treatment. You may need at least three treatment sessions for optimal results.
