#1: It Doesn’t Break The Skin
First off, let’s start with the microneedles themselves. The needles are tiny. In fact, they don’t even extend past the skin. The areas that receive the treatment are the dermis and epidermis. The idea behind traditional microneedling is to give the dermis a little help in stimulating collagen production, so the little needles don’t need to extend past it.
At Levy, we employ a Vivace™ RF Microneedling treatment, which is microneedling with some added bonuses. In addition to the traditional microneedling techniques, Vivace™ uses an added light and heat therapy to further reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. The light and heat act as a further catalyst to stimulate dermal rejuvenation. During the procedure the provider will either use the red light to stimulate additional collagen within the skin or the blue light to kill acne causing bacteria. With this added treatment, we can assure safe and effective treatment without having to go any deeper than the skin itself.
In addition, the patient also has an option of adding PRP (platelet-rich plasma) into the micro channels caused from the procedure. PRP is your own blood modified in a way to produce your body’s own healing “ingredients” which are stored in our platelets. PRP aids in healing and will also signal a repair response within the skin.
