Rosacea

Coming Soon! What is Facial Redness & Rosacea?

Visible blood vessels in the face often produce a common condition known as rosacea and redness. While the cause isn’t entirely known, rosacea is thought to be a combination of hereditary and environmental factors.

Unfortunately, rosacea flare-ups tend to worsen with age. Although there is no cure for this bothersome condition, Levy Dermatology has a minimally-invasive way to help prevent flare-ups, and get you into remission as quickly as possible.

What Treatments Are Available?

Your Levy Dermatology Provider will work with you to determine exactly which treatment is best for your rosacea depending on your skin’s particular needs. However, the best solution we’ve found thus far for rosacea and redness is BBL™ light treatments. BBL™ stands for BroadBand Light and is especially effective for rosacea because it targets blood vessels at precise depths. Photoenergy is delivered to the target structures causing them to collapse. Eventually the broken vessels below the skin are naturally reabsorbed by the body.

If you’re struggling to get rid of a rosacea flare-up and aren’t seeing the results you want with at-home solutions, you may want to consider a medical-grade alternative. BBL™ treatments are quick, effective, and help stop rosacea in its tracks. Stubborn redness and flushing of rosacea are no longer something you have to live with.

What Results Will I See?

BBL™  treatments are tailored to each of our client’s individual needs. Whether you’d like a mild treatment option with limited downtime or an aggressive treatment plan to get rid of rosacea as quickly as possible, BBL™ can help. However, for optimal results, a treatment series of 6 treatments spaced 1 month apart is recommended.

Results can vary significantly based on the severity of your condition and are optimal within the context of a medical grade regimen, including anti-red topicals and broad-spectrum sunscreen. However, most men and women can see a reduction in rosacea and redness with the initial BBL™ session. Treated areas begin to improve days after the procedure. Hyperpigmentation can also improve and will gradually fade over the course of several weeks to several months. BBL™ is safe as required for long-term rosacea management and prevention.

Is There Any Down Time?

The exact recovery time will vary from person to person but downtime is minimal. Usually 1-2 hours of redness is expected. More aggressive treatments may lead to longer, more intense redness that last a few hours. Your Levy Dermatology Provider will help customize an actionable plan for clearer skin based on your specific concerns, goals, and lifestyle.
