Why do so many people use Levy Dermatology for their cosmetic dermatology? The Levy Dermatology difference is the emphasis on giving you a natural result that augments your inherent facial features. A conservative approach allows for subtle but pleasing improvements in your beauty rather than a frozen, angular look that is commonly seen with less experienced providers. This philosophy combined with Levy Dermatology’s years of training, experience, and artistic perspective is our advantage. Our philosophy is focused on you, but smoother, younger, and refreshed!
Whether you want improvement in how your skin feels and looks or simply want a relaxing facial, we can design a treatment plan — and pamper you in the process. With advances in the use of lasers, light sources, neurotoxins, fillers, and sclerotherapy, we are able to help patients achieve beautiful, healthy skin that matches the age they feel.
In addition to cosmetic dermatology options, our aestheticians can refresh and enhance your skin with aesthetic treatments such as facials, chemical peels or dermabrasion.
Photodamage: Photodamage is damage to the skin due to chronic sun exposure in the past. This causes the appearance of wrinkles, brown spots, dilated vessels, a sallow hue to the skin, loss of elasticity (sagging) and textural changes (bumps and cysts).
Volume Loss: Volume loss refers to the expected muscular wasting, fat loss, and bone resorption of the aging process. This loss of subcutaneous volume leads to a shrinkage of the scaffolding of the face and results in a draping of the skin around the mouth producing lines around the mouth known as melolabial folds, marionette lines, and smile lines. In addition, it produces a disruption in the normal smooth contour of the chin as it joins with the jaw, known as “jowls”.
Wrinkles: The long-time use of the muscles of facial expression leads to dynamic wrinkling and static, “etched-in”, furrows such as the “11s” between the eyebrows. These wrinkles bring with them a tired, sad, angry, or generally aged appearance.
Varicose Veins: Red, blue, and purple dilated and tortuous veins on the legs can occur for many reasons and sclerotherapy is useful for removing the smaller reticulated veins in the upper parts of the skin.
Acne Scars: Ice-pick and crateriform scars from acne can be emotionally troublesome. The Profractional XC laser can soften the appearance of these scars, leading to a smoother appearance of the skin.
Skin Laxity: Over time, aging, photo-damage, and environmental stressors can create sagging of the skin in areas such as the jowls and eyelids. Laser resurfacing can not only remove “etched-in” lines but can tighten skin in these areas, even sometimes without the need for invasive surgery.
Large Pores: The nose, cheeks, and forehead often experience enlarged pores over time. Fractionated laser treatments combined with good skin care can significantly improve and nearly eliminate these enlarged pores and give you smooth, youthful appearing skin with minimal downtime.
